Iron, Glass, Wood - The Shape of Togetherness
昨年から改修を続けていた「遊朴館 HIDA GALLERY」が全館リニューアルを終え、この度、グランドオープンの運びとなりました。これを記念して、木の三谷龍二さん、鉄の金森正起さん、硝子の小澄正雄さんによる展覧会を開催いたします。
文字通り、扱う材料が違う三人の作家が、共同作業によっていくつかのプロダクトをつくるというユニークな趣向の展覧会です。三者三様の材料と技術を持ち寄りながら、そこにはひとつの豊かな世界が広がっています。
三谷龍二さんからの推薦で参加してくださったおふたりは、飛騨国城主の金森一族に自身の姓のルーツを感じるという名古屋出身の金森正起さん、そして現在、岐阜県内に工房を構える小澄正雄さん。はからずも、それぞれ飛騨高山と浅からぬ地縁も感じる工芸界の精鋭です。
裾野の広い工芸の世界で、年齢もジャンルも異なる三人の作家が、互いの仕事に対する深い信頼のもとに、集い語らい形にしていったひとつひとつの作品は、ものづくりの未来への静かな提言と言えるのかもしれません。
The Yuhokan HIDA GALLERY has completed its full-scale renovation, ongoing since last year, and is now ready for its grand reopening. To commemorate this occasion, we are hosting an exhibition featuring three artists: Ryuji Mitani (wood), Masaki Kanamori (iron), and Masao Kozumi (glass).
This unique exhibition features three craftsmen working with different materials collaborating to create several products. Each craftsman brings his own materials and techniques; yet together they create a rich and vibrant world.
The two craftsmen who joined the exhibition at the recommendation of Ryuji Mitani are Masaki Kanamori, who traces his family name back to the Kanamori clan, former lords of Hida Province, and Masao Kozumi, who currently operates a workshop in Gifu Prefecture. Interestingly, both of them share a deep connection to the Hida Takayama region.
In the wide world of crafts, these three artists - differ in age and the genre in which they work - have come together, guided by deep trust in each other's work, to create pieces that may subtly shape the future of craftsmanship.
