Japanese Beech

At the time of our founding, we started making bentwood furniture using the rich forest resources of the beech forest in this area where the tradition of craftsmanship in Hida is still alive.
Domestic beech has a fine grain and is sticky, making it suitable for bentwood processing. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of our founding, we have reprinted the bentwood "No. 7 chair".

The Kurome Fuki-urushi finish is a black color with gloss and depth and presence where the elegant lines of the chair look the most beautiful. Mr. Mitsuo Takahashi, a traditional craftsman of Hida, selects and blends lacquer from the Hida region and gives a finish suitable for curved wooden chairs using beech. Lacquer, which is a natural material, is characterized by being transparent with time.
